Regionteater Väst is Sweden's largest touring performing arts institution for children and young people, and one of the country's leading producers of dance and theatre. We have two production houses: one in Borås for dance and choreography, and one in Uddevalla for theatre. A large part of our operations takes place on tour throughout the Västra Götaland region, as well as nationally and internationally. Our mission is to create performing arts that are relevant, accessible, and artistically challenging for children and young people, and to engage with an audience comprising diverse experiences, perspectives, and life circumstances.

The organization has an annual turnover of approximately 55 million SEK and employs 65 full-time equivalents, including around 50 permanent staff members – artists, technicians, and administrators – all working to give children and young people the opportunity to encounter living performing arts that place their voices at the center.

For the 2026/2027 season, Regionteater Väst enters a new chapter under new artistic leadership by Martin Forsberg. We are seeking dance artists for work in the near future, but also to meet, listen, and understand which artistic voices may become part of our operations moving forward.

As a dancer at Regionteater Väst, you will work in a touring repertory company where new productions alternate with revivals.

The role includes:

• collaborations with national and international choreographers
• performances for young audiences
• tours at theatres, in schools, and at alternative venues
• workshops, audience meetings, and outreach work
• continuous training and artistic development

We are looking for dancers who want to work in an environment where artistic quality, audience engagement, and ensemble work are equally important.

You:

• have a strong and well-founded technical dance foundation
• are experienced in working with improvisation and have knowledge of various improvisation methods
• have a clear artistic voice and a strong work ethic
• are interested in working with children and young people
• thrive in close ensemble work
• are comfortable with touring life or curious about touring work

Applicants must have at least three (3) years of professional experience in the field of dance.

Application & Audition

Auditions will take place in Stockholm at Dansalliansen in Nacka on Saturday, 12 September 2026, and at Regionteater Väst's home stage in Borås on Saturday, 19 September 2026.

Auditions are by invitation only. Please indicate your preferred location in your application.

We offer two one-year contracts starting in December 2026.

The audition also serves as an opportunity to meet dance artists for potential future collaborations.

We apply individual salary setting in accordance with the current collective agreement.

Materials to be submitted:

• CV including a portrait photo
• Unedited improvisation video without added music (max 3 minutes)
• Short video presentation introducing yourself and explaining your interest in working at Regionteater Väst (max 90 seconds)

• Friday, 07 August 2026: All applicants will receive a decision by this date
• Saturday, 12 September 2026: Audition at Dansalliansen in Stockholm
• Saturday, 19 September 2026: Audition at Regionteater Väst in Borås
